The brief:

Build a new house in West Hampstead to incorporate highly innovative and unusual design features.

We were retained by the architect for whom we had previously refurbished
a garden flat in Hampstead to include a 33 ft orangery kitchen.

The approach:

Any new build house project requires a huge amount of carefully managed
planning and construction however being located in West Hampstead this
needed more than most – including laying on the supply of water and
electricity, underpinning nearby properties, excavation, piling, steel work
framing… an extensive programme of activity involving third parties
prior to commencing the actual build.

Also the design incorporated some very specific demands, including maximum height restrictions, which required us to think on the spot and find solutions
that did not undermine the integrity of the design of the new building.
However, we met every challenge successfully and finished every part
of the building to an exemplary standard as witnessed in the testimonial.

The result:

The client was thrilled with our workmanship and project timescales, and we are proud to say that we are continuing to work with them.

The outcome meant that by detailed planning and collaboration on design
development we were able to assist the architect to deliver a property which was
not only well conceived with its own individual style but which was constructed in
such a way that it was innovative and design lead whilst remaining sympathetic
